The Fort Solis alternate ending puts a different spin on the game’s finale. But figuring out how to get it isn’t obvious. And strangely, it doesn’t have anything to do with the mysterious satellite array. Here’s how to get the bad ending in Fort Solis, which also unlocks the seventh character collectible and “Causality” trophy
How to get the alternate ending in Fort Solis
The alternate ending in Fort Solis doesn’t actually take planning or specific items. In fact, it takes the opposite. To get this ending, just play through the game as normal until Jack, Jessica, and Wyatt have their first interaction. After the fight and Jessica closes the airlock, Jack will wander outside.
Most would likely mash the X button (or the analogous button on other platforms) and push the stick forward to face off against Wyatt in the hangar.
However, don’t do any of that. Don’t press any buttons once Jack starts walking outside. This will cause him to stumble multiple times on the Martian soil, allowing Wyatt to catch up to him. Just let it play out (there are no quick-time events, either). It’s a lot darker of an ending, but it will unlock the aforementioned collectible and trophy.
