Starfield Armory Missing items

Starfield Armory Items Missing: Why Did My Items Disappear?

You can get an armory for your ship in Starfield. Depending on the manufacturer, you’ll find mannequins and weapons cases to display your best gear. However, if you edit your craft, you’ll quickly notice that your items are missing from the armory. So, where did they go? The answer might not be what you’re looking for.

Where are the missing items from my armory in Starfield?

There are two places where your missing armory items might be in Starfield:

  • Your Cargo Hold
  • Gone

When you edit a ship, it stores all the items inside in your cargo hold. This is supposed to include any gear you’ve stored in the armory. However, if you find your equipment isn’t in your hold, then it’s likely gone for good. Unfortunately, at launch, the armory modules are bugged, and there’s a chance anything you put into storage there has a chance of disappearing if you edit your ship’s modules.

Unfortunately, as far as we can tell, there’s no way to recover these missing items. They don’t appear in the cargo hold or storage elsewhere on the ship. We revisited the armory later to see if gear reappeared on stands, mannequins, or weapons cases, and it was nowhere to be seen hours later.

More Starfield

This bug seems partly caused by how Starfield handles items in your ship when edited. Even if a module isn’t removed, moved, or detached from a ship, all modules are reset when you complete an edit. When you confirm you’re done building, a message informs you that all items in the ship will be moved to your cargo hold. However, it seems like this only counts for the default items in the armory. Any that you add aren’t transferred.

Bethesda will likely address this issue in a future patch. For now, don’t store any items you don’t want to lose in your armory.
