Starfield Join House Va'ruun faction homeworld home planet

Starfield: Can You Join House Va’ruun and Where’s Their Home Planet?

Given how prominently it features in the game and marketing, you’d think you could join House Va’ruun as a faction in Starfield. It’s treated like the third major political faction alongside the United Colonies and FreeStar Collective, but it’s largely absent from all the main questlines. So, where is the House Va’ruun homeworld, and does it have its own questline?

Can you join House Va’ruun in Starfield?

So far, no one has found a way to join House Va’ruun in Starfield outside of the Serpent’s Embrace trait. Unfortunately, this doesn’t allow you access to a House Va’ruun questline. You do get new dialog options with the few members of the house you find, but none of them lead to anything substantial.

It’s possible that a House Va’ruun questline is cut content or will feature in future DLC. However, unless it has some obscure and complex prerequisites, it’s unlikely we’ll find more substantial factional content in the base game.

Where is the House Va’ruun homeworld in Starfield?

House Va’ruun is enigmatic in Starfield, and has fled from the settled systems. At one point, the faction was cordial with the others, and even after the failure of its Serpent’s Crusade against the UC and FC, it kept an embassy in New Atlantis. However, that facility is now abandoned, and the only contact with House Va’ruun when the game starts in 2330 is with marauders who split off from the main faction.

Initially, many players thought they’d find House Va’ruun in the outer systems. However, aside from some vessels being present in Serpentis, there’s no clue as to where the faction has disappeared to, where its homeworld is, or how large its forces are. As of the events of the base game, the political body of House Va’ruun has effectively vanished without a trace. Even Andreja, who is a former member of the house, doesn’t know where they are.
