Starfield Vendor Credits Reset Merchant Restock Refresh

Starfield Vendor Credit Reset: When Do Merchants Restock and Refresh?

The Starfield vendor credit reset is necessary to understand so that you can sell all of your spare inventory at the appropriate time. All merchants in the game have a certain number of credits at their disposal along with a list of goods. So selling all of your wares for credits, whether that’s legitimate cargo or contraband, may not be possible at one vendor. And on top of that, you’ll need to wait a bit before those same vendors are able to restock and refresh their inventory so that you can sell to them again. Here’s when vendors reset their credits and goods in Starfield.

When is the Starfield vendor credit reset?

The vendor credit reset occurs in loops at around 24 to 48 in-game hours, depending on the planet that you’re on.

The passage of time works differently depending on what planet the vendors are on, but in general you can wait on a bench or chair for about 2 days or so that enough local UT time will pass for merchants to reset. Those who have played Bethesda’s other open-world games like Fallout 4 and Skyrim will be familiar with this mechanic.

That said, there should be enough vendors in the game, in New Atlantis alone in fact, that you don’t really need to worry too much about merchants being unable to provide enough liquid currency across a single in-game day. If you do happen to exhaust all of the merchants in New Atlantis, you can head to Neon, Akila City, Cydonia, and The Den to trade your items as well. The Trade Authority in each of these areas will tend to have the most credits on hand to purchase any loot you wish to sell.

Worse case scenario, you can opt to purchase ammo, med packs, digipicks, and other items with low or negligible weight for trade instead of requesting credits.

Starfield Vendor Credit Reset FAQ

Q: How often do vendors in Starfield reset their credits and goods?

A: Vendors reset their credits and goods roughly every 24 to 48 in-game hours. The exact time varies based on the planet the vendor is on. Typically, you can wait around on a bench or chair for about 2 days in local time for merchants to reset.

Q: What if a vendor doesn’t have enough credits for all my wares?

A: There are plenty of vendors throughout the game, especially in places like New Atlantis, so it’s unlikely you’ll run out of merchants with credits in a single in-game day. If you do find a shortage in New Atlantis, you can also trade at Neon, Akila City, Cydonia, and The Den. The Trade Authority in these areas typically has the most credits available.

Q: If a vendor runs out of credits, what alternatives do I have for trading my items?

A: If you can’t get credits, consider trading your items for ammo, med packs, digipicks, and other light or low-weight items. This way, you can still get value from your wares without needing to wait for a credit reset.
