Currently, PC and PlayStation 5 players cannot access Helldivers 2 rewards due to no XP gains. Games during their early stages often run into problems like this, but it is extremely frustrating for day-one players. A broken rewards system can be extremely demotivating for any game, but it seems help is on its way.
Why are rewards not working in Helldivers 2?
Due to the Helldivers 2 servers being overloaded, players cannot receive in-game rewards. During this time, the game cannot register the amount of XP to grant players. Games that are dependent on online servers for their playability often face these issues during the initial days from launch.
The game’s massive success is probably the main reason for this. Developers could not anticipate such a massive surge of players. So, the servers were quickly overwhelmed within four days of launch. Unfortunately, players cannot fix this issue by themselves since the problem is not on their end. Players have no option other than to wait for the bugs to be fixed.
Arrowhead Game Studios, the development studio behind Helldivers 2, has openly acknowledged the issue and has informed players about conducting massive live server maintenance in hopes of fixing it.
They have also mentioned that during the live server maintenance, the servers may malfunction while playing Helldivers 2. This means that the issue may persist during the maintenance time while frequent server errors may be imminent.
However, players remain hopeful as the developers are working on fixing the issue as soon as possible. Players expect the servers to be fully functional within 24 hours of the start of the live server maintenance.
