Dragon's Dogma 2 Arisens Shadow Bugged

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Is The Arisen’s Shadow Bugged?: How to Find The Man Following You

Players are wondering if The Arisen’s Shadow quest is bugged in Dragon’s Dogma 2. It appears abruptly, which can take you by surprise, and it’s unclear how it should end. Depending on when you get the quest, it can be confusing to find the person supposedly shadowing you. Fortunately, there’s a way to finish The Arisen’s Shadow, even if it seems like it’s bugged or you failed it.

How to complete The Arisen’s Shadow in Dragon’s Dogma 2 if it’s bugged

There are two points where The Arisen’s Shadow can bug out a bit in Dragon’s Dogma 2, which can make it difficult to complete:

  • The shadow can spawn so far from your party that he’s hard to spot.
  • You can kill the shadow before the trigger to continue the quest fires.

When I was playing through this quest, I randomly got a notification in Vernworth that The Arisen’s Shadow quest started. However, no one was actually following me. To find him, I had to try talking to every NPC I could see, and even when I finally found the right one, a man in brown clothing and a hood named Bermudo, he was facing away from me.

Once you find Bermudo, he’ll run from you. When you catch up to him, he’ll attempt to bribe you. You can choose to take it or capture him. If you pick the latter, you’re only supposed to get a few hits in before Captain Brant appears to arrest him. However, sometimes the trigger takes too long, and you’ll accidentally kill him before it can happen.

Don’t worry if you accidentally kill Bermudo. You can immediately use a Wakestone to revive him. If you happened to have lost track of his corpse, you just have to head over to the Vernworth Charnel House to find his coffin. Note, you’ll have to wait three days or pay Zennan 5,000 Gold to find it.

Once you revive Bermudo, Captain Brant should show up. Alternatively, you can revive him at night and carry him over to the bar to ensure Brant finally arrests him.
