Project Morpheus Release Window Revealed

Project Morpheus, Sony's virtual reality headset built specifically for PlayStation 4, will release in the first half of 2016, the company revealed today at Game Developers Conference 2015.

Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida made the exciting announcement, and also revealed the device's specs. The latest prototype, which is fairly representative of the final version, features an OLED display and has a 120hz refresh rate. The screen itself is 5.7 inches in size and has 9 tracking LEDs.

Project Morpheus is just one of many VR headsets coming to market, as Valve and HTC just recently announced Vive, a headset built specifically for Steam. Who will come out on top? Is there room for Project Morpheus, Vive, and Oculus Rift? Only time will tell!
