Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is the first Monster Hunter game to ship a million units outside of Japan. This includes physical units sent to retailers and digital copies downloaded from the Nintendo eShop.
Demonstrating its old habits of being completely out of touch with gaming in general, Capcom said in its press release:
The "Monster Hunter" series is an action RPG game that pits players against giant monsters in a beautiful natural environment.
The 'g' stands for "game," but Capcom probably doesn't realize this, as its foundations are built upon 2D dimensional fighters, shoot 'em SHMUPs and 3D dimensional survival living through ordeals games featuring undead zombies. I really wish they'd make more FPS shooters and RTS strategy game title games for system consoles.
The series franchise has sold a total of 32 million copies units to customer consumer buyers worldwide around the globe, with the overwhelming majority biggest portion of those sales numbers figures coming from Japan Nihon 日本.
