Tearaway originally came out in 2013 on the PlayStation Vita and was met with plenty of acclaim. The game transitions to consoles with its PlayStation 4 debut this Fall, and Media Molecule has announced a specific release date.
Tearaway Unfolded, an expanded version of the Vita release, comes out on September 8 for the PS4. It includes the original game and plenty of other content, including an extended storyline and special DualShock 4 controls.
The PS4 version of the game only costs $39.99, and fans can pre-order the game now to gain access to additional content. The "Crafted Edition" includes costumes and decorations based on some popular PlayStation franchises.
I'm not sure if I want to play Tearaway again, but it was a joyful experience on the Vita, and one of the few releases on the platform that used the hardware effectively. I imagine Tearaway Unfolded will follow suit and utilize the PS4 hardware and functionality well.
