The Talos Principle: Road to Gehenna Gets Release Date

One of the best releases of 2014 was The Talos Principle, a mind-bending puzzle game from the creators of the Serious Sam franchise. Now the game is getting even more content in the form of Road to Gehenna, which now has a release date.

The upcoming expansion comes out in just two weeks on July 23. The Steam news details four new episodes that feature "some of the most advanced and challenging puzzles yet." The writers from the core game, Tom Jubert and Jonas Kyratzes, return to expand on the philosophical content of The Talos Principle world.

I imagine the price for Road to Gehenna will be reasonable given Devolver Digital CFO Fork Parker's lighthearted take on DLC practices.

“The original plan was to divide The Talos Principle: Road to Gehenna into over 100 different $5 DLCs but the Devolver Digital DLC Ethics Department advised against it,” he said. “That particular department has subsequently been disbanded.”

The Talos Principle came out back in December on PC, so it got overlooked in plenty GOTY discussions. Fortunately more people have discovered it since then, and that number will surely grow when it comes out on PlayStation 4 later this year.
