Fallout Anthology Is the Perfect Example of a Collection Done Right

At QuakeCon 2015, Bethesda announced a very special compilation for PC gamers who have a soft spot for the Fallout franchise.

On September 29 in North America and October 2 in Europe, gamers will be able to pick up Fallout Anthology, a massive collection of all the prior Fallout titles, including FalloutFallout 2Fallout TacticsFallout 3 Game of the Year Edition, and Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition. Yes, that means each game's official add-on content is included as well.

Better yet? The packaging. As you can see below, each game comes in its own unique sleeve, which fits nicely within a collectible mini-nuke that'll look slick on any game collector's shelf. So, not only is Fallout Anthology an awesome bundle of gaming history, it's appropriately priced at $49.99.

While the games aren't being remastered or touched up in any apparent way, I'm really happy to see publishers release compilations like this, especially when considering the number of potential gamers out there eyeing Fallout 4 who haven't played a single game in the series before. Movies, music, and television shows get compilation re-releases all the time, and video games should be no different.

Would you like to see more collections of this ilk released in the future? My fingers are still crossed in the hopes that BioWare's Mass Effect Trilogy makes its way to PS4 and Xbox One, despite EA's apparent lack of interest in making that happen.
