Nintendo’s Quality of Life Sleep Sensor Will Apparently Have a Ceiling Projector

A new patent for Nintendo's quality of life platform has surfaced online, providing an early look at the company's sleep monitor, which is expected to release sometime next year.

The device features a docking station (likely for your phone), a set of speakers, and a ceiling projector. Yes, you read that correctly… a ceiling projector. Based on the patent's description (via NeoGAF), the device has sensors that measure a person's pulse rate, temperature, and the like, then sends that data off to Nintendo's servers so that a "sleep score" can be calculated. Then, using that handy built-in projector, the score is displayed on the ceiling for person to see while laying in bed.

Here's a closer look at the device. It's unclear as to whether the object plugged into the docking station is actually the user's smartphone or not, but one would reasonably assume that is the case.

What do you think of the concept? Do you think Nintendo has another big success on its hands?
