PS4 Firmware 3.0 Being Tested, Adds YouTube Streaming & Twitter Clip Uploads

Stability Awaits.

In Japan, Sony is beta testing PS4 firmware 3.0. I'm not in the beta myself, but Pocket News has the goods.

  • “Event” menu allows users to find events related to PlayStation, join them, and/or watch them.
  • “Community” is added to the “Friends” menu. Allows users to make or join communities.
  • “Now Playing” is added to “friend,” “community,” “message,” and profile screen that allows you to display/see games you and other members are currently playing. You can request to join their games or request to broadcast the game.
  • “Message” function being improved. Users can add groups to a favorites list.
  • Users can broadcast via YouTube.
  • Users can upload game clips to Twitter, of 10 seconds or shorter.

Are these the PS4 and PSN features you were hoping for?
