Players Feedback Pays Off for Call of Duty: Black Ops III

Developer Treyarch held a Call of Duty: Black Ops III multiplayer beta a couple of months ago. Plenty of people played the beta and gave feedback, and Treyarch is using that feedback to deliver a better multiplayer experience.

Treyarch Game Design Director David Vonderhaar outlined the process in a PlayStation Blog post earlier today. He mentioned various changes to the multiplayer experience as a result of feedback, including changes to the Black Hat equipment and the Rejack ability. Other small tweaks were also made to concussion and flashbang grenades, the final kill cam, and the kill marker mechanic.

Most of the changes don't drastically alter the multiplayer experience, but the blog post showcases the proper response to a beta. Treyarch took the player feedback to heart and made the necessary adjustments to ensure a better final product.

I'm sure this goes on behind the scenes a lot of the time, but it's great to see this kind of openness regarding the process for such a high-profile release. The Call of Duty fan base is a passionate one, so it's good to see that it also has a say in the development of the new game.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III comes out on November 6 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
