DICE Concedes That Walker Assault Is “Too Tough” for Rebels in Star Wars: Battlefront

If there was one thing that was clear in the recent multiplayer beta for Star Wars: Battlefront, it was that being a Rebel in Walker Assault Mode felt exactly like it sounds: a nightmare.

In this 40-player mode, the Rebels need to call in Y-wing bombers to fight against two AT-ATs while the Empire forces only need to prevent the Rebels from securing command posts to do just that.

One player of the beta responded on Twitter, asking whether he sucks for never being able to win a match as a Rebel, and Community Manager for Star Wars: Battlefront (@Sledgehammer70) replied saying, "Nope! Its a balancing issue within the Beta."

Dennis Brännvall, lead multiplayer designer for Battlefront, answered a similar question on Twitter by also admitting that "it's too tough." He wants to incorporate feedback of course (it is a beta, is it not?) and concedes that "asymmetric modes are tricky and risky but potentially awesome, that's why we want beta test help."

The beta for Star Wars: Battlefront has reached 9 million players and has revealed a high-cost $50 season pass.
