Just Cause 3 Dev Confirms Issue With PC AMD Graphics Cards, Offers Short-Term Solution

Just Cause 3 has officially released. While most buyers are celebrating their arrival in its massive virtual world, some are expressing frustration with poor performance.

Unsurprisingly, many of those affected by severe performance issues and bizarre bugs have one thing in common: an AMD graphics card.

It didn't take long for Avalanche Studios to confirm that there are known issues with AMD graphics cards in Just Cause 3's PC version. The following was posted by a member of the studio:

There are some known issues that occur with the most recent official release AMD/ATi graphics card drivers. We’re working with AMD to fix the issue via an upcoming driver update – to ensure you don’t experience these issues yourself please make sure you are using the latest beta driver available here

One of the known issues is texture fragmentation. One user by the name of KURUPTPANDA shared a screenshot of what it looks like. See below.

Another user by the name of GreenMachineIII confirmed that in his case installing the beta driver shared by the Avalanche Studio employee resolved his problems.  If you have an AMD graphics card and want to try and fix the issue yourself, try the list of steps he shared:

1.) Everyone go download the driver

2.) Uninstall your current Graphic Driver

3.) Restart Computer

4.) Install Graphic Driver

5.) Enjoy Just Cause 3

My Specs are as followed and these drivers worked:

XFX AMD R9 290 4GB

i7 5930k

24GB DDR4

If all else fails, Nvidia says hi.
