You Might Be Getting Dying Light: The Following Enhanced Edition for Free

Just like many other enhanced editions, Dying Light will be bundling all of its DLC into a re-packaging of its original title for $59.99. But if you own the original game and the season pass, you'll be getting the enhanced edition absolutely for free.

Lead Designer Maciej Binkowski wanted to make sure that Techland wouldn't piss off its fanbase:

We didn’t want to follow a beaten track and just re-release our game in a new wrapping with the current DLC added on. That’s why for the last half year we’ve been working on a ton of enhancements that we’re now going to make available to everyone. We’re adding bonus post-game content, a Nightmare difficulty level, nearly 100 new animations, new NPC models, advanced AI behaviors, and more. One year after the original release, Dying Light will be even bigger.

Apart from the original game, Dying Light: The Following – Enhanced Edition will include a Bozak Horde mode, Be the Zombie mode, Ultimate Survivor Bundle, Cuisine & Cargo challenge missions, and every content update thus far. It also comes with a built-in season pass for additional content down the road.

If you already own the original game, you will receive a free improvements upgrade digitally for free and you can purchase The Following expansion pack individually or through the season pass. If you own both the original game and the season pass, then you'll just get everything for free.

Dying Light: The Following Enhanced Edition will release for February 9, 2016 in both boxed and digital form for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
