Rainbow Six Siege’s 1.3 Update Adds 60-Tick For Console Servers And Improved Anti-Cheat

Today is a big day for players of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege. Update 1.3 has arrived, and along with it some remarkable additions and changes.

Rainbow Six Siege's 1.3 Update famously includes an upgrade of console servers to 60-tick rate. This will allow the servers to read more inputs from players per second, meaning greater accuracy of how the server reads player movement and actions. This was introduced to PC a few weeks ago with remarkable results.

In addition, an improved anti-cheat system has been implemented following a recent surge of hackers negatively impacting the game climate. This will find those who are using wallhacks, aimbots, and other hacks before permanently banning them from playing the game.

Beyond these two welcomed additions are some bug fixes as well as a currently disabled insta-kill configuration for Defenders who leave Preparation Phase. Ubisoft plans to implement the configuration in the future after further testing.

Rainbow Six Siege was considered one of the best shooters of 2015, and certainly a much-needed deviation from the run and gun oriented shooters of late. You can read more about this update on the official Ubisoft Blog.
