GTAV Could Smash Day-One Sales Records

This morning's–and maybe this year's–biggest news is that Grand Theft Auto V is official, and a trailer will debut on November 2nd. The entire game industry is abuzz with all things GTA, and industry analysts are already weighing in on the never-before-seen title.

EEDAR's Jesse Divnich says that GTAV's launch could be the biggest of all-time, shattering records previously set by Call of Duty: Black Ops. Black Ops sold over 5 million units worldwide at launch and brough in over $1 billion in revenue.

Michael Pachter, on the other hand, isn't convinced that today's teaser should be considered an official announcment, but more of an "acknowledgement" that an announcement is imminent.

Ya know?… I think that's the smartest thing he's ever said.
