Nintendo Believes the Wii and Wii U Can Co-Exist

The Wii is as dead as these rappers. R.I.P. Biggie.

Nintendo, we get it. You were the king of the hill for a long time. To many you still are. We love you. But we're realists, the Wii is dead. Not so, says Nintendo America president Reggie Fils-Aime. He believes that the Wii U and the Wii can "co-exist".

We do believe that Wii and Wii U will coexist for some time. As we drive the install base of Wii, we're really setting people up to take their gaming library and be able to transfer it over to Wii U.

For the two consoles to co-exist, they both need to have relevant software releasing frequently. And aside from Skyward Sword, the Wii don't have shit else.

In fact, when the GR team sat down to discuss the year-end award category for the Wii, all we could come up with as a worthy mention was Skyward Sword… We were supposed to pick five titles for the category. Go ahead, try finding five Wii titles worth nominating. It cannot be done.

Sorry Nintendo, the Wii can't co-exist with the Wii U, it's already dead.

Note: We know the Wii still sells like crazy. We just can't understand why.
