Game Informer’s Halo-Centric May Issue Reveals Cortana’s New Look

The long awaited cover of Game Informer's May Issue has finally been revealed, and lo and behold, it features everyone's favorite space marine and his trusty computer-based sidekick. That's right, Halo 4 is stealing the spotlight in GI's latest issue, which means that all sorts of new and exciting info on the game is only days away.

While not a whole lot has been revealed just yet, there are a few tidbits of interesting info that can be gleaned from the magazine's cover, most notably of course being Cortana's slightly new look. While, yes, the cover is merely an artistic representation of the actual game, GI specifically notes the cyber-girl's altered appearance.

Not only is her purple tinge completely replaced by a blueish hue, she also looks far more human than she did in the prior games. Then again, that may have had something to do with technical limitations rather than artistic design.

Additionally, you'll notice that the Chief's armor is pretty beat up, something that 343i has drawn to our attention in the past. Aside from that, all I see is a lot of green, gray, and blue, a clear indication that this game's color palette is going for a Forerunner feel. That is… until the Covenant show up midway into the game on their giant purple spaceships to crash the party.
