The Souls Series Isn’t Over Yet, And From Software Are Dedicated To Action RPGs

Demon's Souls was great, and Dark Souls was arguably even better. Both sold well. What's missing? A third installment, of course. But the million dollars question is: Will From Software be making another game in the series?

When speaking to GameTrailers, From Software's Head of Research and Development, Masanori Takeuchi, was asked if the success of the Souls series will prompt a third installment. He promptly replied:

Of course, it's [Souls] not over yet.

Thank goodness, because I need my fixing of controller-breaking bosses.

He added:

We've always been enamored by dark fantasy action RPGs. That's just been our core DNA and I think we'll continue to utilize that.

From Software have been masters at the art of action RPGs since their first developed game in 1995, King's Field. They made quite a few titles since that time, several of which were well-received, but virtually all of them were exclusive to Japan. It's no wonder that once they made their first true international push with Demon's Souls they'd receive all of the attention they deserved. As a result, they've shown interest in publishing all future games across the globe, which is rare for a Japanese RPG developer.

Okay, so a sequel hasn't been officially confirmed but it's everything outside of that. Let the suspense continue.
