New Character Class “The Mechromancer” Coming to Borderlands 2

The gears are always churning in the creative minds of the Borderlands 2 team at Gearbox Software. This weekend at PAX, the studio debuted a brand-new character class they're calling the Mechromancer, a half-human half-machine woman. Those who choose to play as this character will also be able to control a large sidekick robot by the name of D374-TP (aka Deathtrap). Pretty awesome, no?

What unfortunately isn't quite as awesome is the fact that the character won't make it in time for the game's launch, so you'll have to pick it up as DLC at a later date. There is good news however, as those who pre-order the game will be able to download the Mechromancer free of charge once it's available.

The studio also confirmed that they're taking character customization to new levels of awesome in the sequel, offering gamers the ability to rearrange their wardrobe however they see fit. After earning new gear, costumes and custom heads (wait, what?!) by completing various challenges, you'll be able to create a completely unique character within the game world.

Honestly, could Borderlands 2 possibly get any better?
