Nintendo Working on “Core Pokémon RPG” and Metroid Prime 4 for Switch [Update]

Update: IGN has confirmed Metroid Prime 4 is not being developed by Retro Studios. Instead, it is being handled by “a talented new development team,” and will still be overseen by the same producer, Kensuke Tanabe.

Original Story: Toward the middle of Nintendo’s E3 Spotlight, Tsunekazu Ishihara shared that Nintendo and Game Freak are currently working on a “core Pokémon RPG” for the Nintendo Switch. Although no additional details were provided, he made clear that it will be at least a year before it’s released.

In addition, Metroid Prime 4 was confirmed, with a release year of 2018. A logo was shown before Nintendo cut away to a new Yoshi title.
