Destiny 2 Has a Rick and Morty Reference Tucked Away Inside of It

Rick and Morty fever appears to have made its way into the Bungie office, with Destiny 2 reportedly featuring a reference to the Adult Swim animated series.

A list of Destiny 2‘s PS4 trophies was allegedly obtained by the site Exophase, revealing 13 challenges lying ahead of its players in order to obtain its Platinum trophy. While it’s a relatively underwhelming list for those who take pride in trophy hunting, one stands out from the crowd for Rick and Morty fans, with ‘Show Me What You Got’ likely being a reference to the hugely popular sci-fi show.

In order to obtain the ‘Show Me What You Got’ trophy, players must “complete Shaxx’s Call to Arms.” Shaxx is the Crucible Handler from the first Destiny, responsible for selling high-end armor to Guardians, along with serving as the announcer in its PvP matches. While Shaxx isn’t a giant, floating, disembodied head like the Cromulon who bellows the phrase the trophy is referencing, it could well be the case that his call to arms will entail a nod to Rick and Morty. Or Bungie could simply be fans of the show, and wanted to include the reference just for the hell of it.

The Cromulons appear in the season 2 episode ‘Get Schwifty,’ which sees planet Earth inadvertently being thrust into an intergalactic game show in order to appease the floating heads.
