Sony’s Magnificent Wonderbook: Book of Spells Casts Magic This November

Sony bored the pants off the gamers in attendance at their annual E3 press with too much talk about the Wonderbook. Lucky for them, I'm half Sony fanboy, half Dad, and thus completely interested in picking up a Wonderbook for my kid at launch.

The date of said launch, will hereby be known forth to be November 13th.

Wonderbook will be sold first as Wonderbook: Book of Spells, as part of a bundle that comes with the software, Wonderbook AR book, a PlayStation Eye, and PlayStation Move for $79.99. Those of you with a PlayStation Move set up already—all one or two of you—can skip that bundle and pick up Wonderbook: Book of Spells for $39.99 on its own.

What I'm not yet understanding is if you can use the same Wonderbook for future compatible software, or if each Wonderbook is tied to whatever software you buy it with. Needing multiple Wonderbooks makes the product less appealing to me, as the last thing I need is more clutter in my living room.

Sony recently unveiled yet another Wonderbook game, Wonderbook: Diggs Nightcrawler.

While Wonderbook has minimal appeal to traditional gamers, any of you with children should give it a serious look—I was impressed with what I saw during my Sony booth tour at this past E3.
