The Evil Within 2 First-Person Mode Available in New Update

The Evil Within 2‘s new first-person mode is available to play on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, with Bethesda debuting a new update introducing the new perspective.

After downloading the update, players can access The Evil Within 2‘s first-person mode by way of selecting the option in the in-game menu. They can then flip between first- and third-person at will

“A lot of players like playing horror games in first-person, so for those who want to see some of the game’s situations through Sebastian’s eyes, it’s a really neat experience,” said Tango Gameworks’ producer, Shinsaku Ohara. “I think exploring Union in first-person makes the scale feel even bigger than it does when you’re in third-person. Also, being able to see our environments and enemies up close allows players to get an even better look at how much effort went into their designs.”

A free trial of The Evil Within 2 can also be downloaded over on Bethesda.net, allowing survival-horror fans to try out the 2017 game before they buy it. This trial includes the opening chapters of the game, as protagonist Sebastian makes his tentative first steps into the open world of Union.

The first-person update is completely free, with existing players able to download it for no extra charge. It follows in the footsteps of the original The Evil Within‘s first-person DLC, ‘The Executioner.’
