Lionhead Studios Working On “New And Exciting” Project

Are you growing sick of the Fable franchise? Did the third installment leave a bad taste in your mouth? Does the Kinect-centric Fable: The Journey have you heaving in disgust? Have hope, for it appears that the studio is working on something both "new and exciting." Wow. I'd happily settle for something just new, but exciting too?! Oh boy!

Cynicism aside, this is great news for Xbox gamers, as the platform's exclusive lineup isn't particularly large. Lionhead Studio's boss Gary Carr told Polygon that despite the clear emphasis on Fable these past several years, they do have some "new and exciting" (there it is again) stuff they're working on.

“We always have a few teams kicking around, and a few small teams who branch off and do other things. You can’t just pour everybody onto one idea — that’s just not going to [help you] evolve as a studio," Carr explained. "So there are a number of things I can’t talk about, as you would imagine. But we’re a team rolling off a finished title now, and we’re rolling onto something new and exciting which I can’t tell you about.”

Now that Molyneux and his lofty plans to revolutionize gaming within the Fable franchise are no longer present at Lionhead, perhaps we'll actually see something that truly is both exciting and new.
