Today’s Nindies Showcase Spring 2018 revealed several new indie titles, as well as a bunch of remasters for the Nintendo Switch. We’re going to summarize the content of the Nindies Showcase for all of our readers. To watch a replay of the presentation, head on over here.
The Banner Saga Trilogy | Summer 2018 / TBA 2018
This is arguably the biggest announcement from the Nindies Showcase Spring 2018 presentation. All three The Banner Saga games are confirmed to arrive on the Nintendo Switch, with the player’s choices and progress from each game carrying over to the next. The Banner Saga games are fantasy tactical RPG games developed by Stoic. The Banner Saga 3 will arrive first in Summer 2018 for the Nintendo Switch while the first two games will arrive “soon” with an unspecified release window.
Mark of the Ninja Remastered | Fall 2018
Klei Entertainment’s Mark of the Ninja is officially getting a remastered edition for the Nintendo Switch. It’s a side-scrolling action stealth platformer, which was originally released for the Xbox 360 and PC in 2012.
Fantasy Strike | Summer 2018
Sirlin Games’ Fantasy Strike is a fighting game where martial arts meets fantasy and anything can become a weapon. That includes the wind, gambling and even time itself. Online multiplayer will be free until the Nintendo Switch Online Service launches in September 2018.
Just Shapes & Beats | Summer 2018
Berzerk Studio’s Just Shapes & Beats is a musical rhythm bullet hell game. Players can take on the game’s story mode fully solo or with up to three friends in local co-op or online multiplayer.
Garage | Spring 2018
Tiny Build’s Garage is a top-down shooter inspired by gory VHS-era B-movies. Players will mow down hordes of undead and mutants with plenty of weapons in this isometric action game.
Pool Panic | TBA 2018
Adult Swim Games and Rekim join forces to bring you Pool Panic, a wacky game where deserts and jungles are actual locales for cartoon games of pool. Players assume the role of a cue ball seeking the eight ball while encountering other bizarre balls of various themes. There are over 100 levels to complete and local multiplayer for up to four players.
Bomb Chicken | Summer 2018
Nitrome is releasing Bomb Chicken, a platformer starring a chicken combining action, puzzles, and arcade goodness. Players can stack bombs to solve puzzles, reach hard-to-reach places or just to see chaotic explosions ensue.
Lumines Remastered | Spring 2018
Lumines Remastered is an HD remaster of the critically-acclaimed original puzzle game based on light and sound patterns. It is being developed by Enhance Games and led by Rez visionary Tetsuya Mizuguchi to work with the Nintendo Switch’s HD Rumble Feature.
Reigns King and Queens | Spring 2018
Developed by Nerial and published by Devolver Digital, players will assume the role of a monarch listening to requests from peasants, allies, and enemies in Reigns King and Queens. Your choices will bring consequences to your faction. The game is actually a compilation of Reigns and Reigns Her Majesty. For the first time ever, players can enjoy local co-op decision making exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.
Light Fall | Spring 2018
Bishop Games’ platformer Light Fall will bring players to the beautiful world of Numbra, where players will manipulate a magical box called the Shadow Core to move around and use as platforms to jump from. There will be a speedrun mode where players can compete against their friends to complete levels in the fastest time.
West of Loathing | Spring 2018
West of Loathing from Asymmetric Games is a slapstick comedy stick figure wild west open-world RPG. With over three character class to choose from, players can participate in optional turn-based battles while completing funny side-quests and puzzles. There are also over fifty hats to collect so have fun.
Pode | Spring 2018
Pode is a co-op exploration puzzle game by Henchman & Goon. Inspired by Norwegian art and culture, the game also works in solo mode.
The Messenger | Summer 2018
Developed by Sabotage and published by Devolver Digital, The Messenger allows players to switch between an 8-bit platformer and a gorgeously-rendered 16-bit platformer. Players assume the role of a cursed ninja on a time-traveling adventure delivering a scroll which will save his clan.
Bad North | Summer 2018
Bad North is a real-time tactics roguelike strategy game by Plausible Concept and Raw Fury, where the death of generals will be permanent, similar to the XCOM games. Players will face the Viking hordes with their armies.
