EGX 2018: Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and The Division 2 Playable at Ubisoft Booth

Ubisoft is set to attend EGX 2018 in Birmingham in late September, and is bringing three of its upcoming titles to the UK-based event. Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and Starlink: Battle for Atlas will be present at the NEC Arena between September 20 and 23. In an announcement on EGX’s official site, it was revealed that the trio will all be playable at Ubisoft’s show floor stand alongside exclusive merchandise and memorabilia.

With Gamescom 2018, PAX West, and looking further back, E3 2018 in the books, EGX 2018 promises to be the first time that UK fans can get their hands on some of the most hotly-anticipated games of Fall 2018 and beyond. Though, if previous years are any indication, get there early.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, the first of Ubisoft’s trio of games to be released, is the latest in the company’s long running franchise. It tells the story of main character Alexios or Kassandra – depending on what gender you start the game as – in Ancient Greece. Players are dropped right into the middle of the Peloponnesian war between Sparta and Athens, in fifth century B.C, to take in a world of myths and legends. Starlink: Battle for Atlas is an action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft’s Toronto studio. Players must lead the fight against the Forgotten Legion, a band of mercenaries who capture the captain of the player’s mothership the Equinox, and prevent them from acquiring ancient technology that could control the universe.

Finally, The Division 2 – the sequel to 2016’s The Division – is a third-person online role-playing game. Taking place six months after the original game, players continue to battle it out in a civil war against various factions in a government-less United States. Set in Washington D.C, gamers must band together to prevent the country plunging into further hardship.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and The Division will release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on October 5 2018 and March 15 2019 respectively. Starlink: Battle for Atlas, meanwhile, will launch on Xbox, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on October 16 2018. The latter of these three titles will also feature a crossover with Star Fox characters and ships on Nintendo’s hybrid console some time after its launch.
