Reports are coming in that shots have been fired at the home of popular streamer Dr. Disrespect by an unknown shooter. The Twitch personality’s stream was interrupted by clear sounds of gunshots, at which point Dr. Disrespect, whose real name is Guy Beahm, went to investigate. After a few moments he returned, minus his signature wig and sunglasses, to tell his audience that someone had fired a gun at his house. You can see that moment, and Beahm’s response, in the clip below.
According to Beahm, the attacker shot at his house from a vehicle and broke his upstairs window. It occurred during a stream of the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 beta on PS4 for the new Blackout battle royale mode. Gunshots could apparently be heard over the game’s audio, at which point he immediately left his chair, but kept the stream running. He was forced to abandon the stream after explaining what happened to his viewers.
Apparently, this is the second such attack Dr. Disrespect has received at his home in the last two days. We do not have any confirmation whether the shooter is deliberately targeting Beahm, nor whether they knew he would be streaming at the time. No one appears to have been hurt in the incident. Beahm lives at the house with his wife and young daughter, who were reportedly both at home when the incident occurred.
As the time of this writing, Beahm has not made any statement on his Twitter page or any other social media. Dr DisRespect is one of the most popular streamers on Twitch with over 2.5 million followers, and when the the Black Ops 4 Blackout beta stream was interrupted he had upwards of 50,000 viewers watching.
This incident is still developing, and we will update this post with more information as the story develops.
