The Game Awards 2018: The Pathless Announced by the Team Behind Abzu

Two years after its indie hit Abzu, developer Giant Squid has just announced its next title. Its called The Pathless and it is coming to the Epic Games Store and the PS4 at an undetermined date in 2019.

The trailer was silent but showed of a woman and her eagle. The two of them traveled through beautiful forest area while encountering mystical creatures and unnatural structures in nature. It looks to be similar to Abzu in that it seems to be a calming experience that doesn’t require extreme mechanical dexterity.

The woman is a Hunter and a “master of a master of archery who travels to a mystical island to dispel a curse of darkness that grips the world.” Players will able to bond with their eagle and hunt spirits while also evading them. The trailer shows off the game in action.
