Report: Titanfall 3 Job Listing Sighted

A series of job listings spotted on Respawn’s website has all but confirmed the development of Titanfall 3. Respawn has been pretty verbal about its plans to return to the series in the past but this is the first clear sign of a return to the series. Given the job listing advertised, it looks like we’ll be waiting around for the game for a while, with Respawn set to release Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order before Titanfall 3.

The jobs that appear on Respawn’s website call for a variety of roles, with network engineers, artists, animators, and more all being advertised alongside the title “Titanfall” in brackets.

While both Titanfall games were generally applauded by those who played them, sales for both games were lower than Respawn has hoped for, with Titanfall 2 releasing in between Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. The sales combined with the EA takeover left some thinking that the series might be shelved but the new job listings is the first clear sigh that Respawn are heading back to the Frontier.

Given the breadth of roles being advertised by the developer, it seems likely that Titanfall 3 or whatever iteration of the series Respawn is working on, is still at an early stage of development. And with the release of the developer’s Star Wars game, Jedi Fallen Order, rumored to be arriving in November 2019, it may be a long time before we get a look at Titanfall 3.

A lot has happened at Respawn since Titanfall 2 arrived, the EA buyout being one such thing that may well see the publisher having a more active role in how this upcoming installment plays out. And several employees who left Infinity Ward to get Respawn up and running have since returned to the Call of Duty developer; it’s far too early to say how much of an impact these changes will have on the game but it’ll be interesting to see how the different the game looks and feels when it arrives, erm… whenever.

Oddly, among the other job roles shown for Titanfall and Star Wars, there’s an advertisement for a developer support specialist for an “Unannounced” title. As far as we know, Respawn is only working on Star Wars and a new Titanfall game, meaning that either the role just hasn’t been updated or that there’s a third game on Respawn’s books. Whatever the answer, it looks like Respawn is going to be fairly busy in 2019.
