This The Division 2 Parks & Recreation Easter egg proves it’s secretly in the darkest timeline

Players are always discovering new and hilarious Easter eggs hidden within games, but The Division 2 Parks & Recreation Easter egg is one of the best yet. If you ever wondered what happened to Ben Wyatt after the events of Parks & Recreation, it turns out that he went on to do some dark things. Check it out for yourself: This Ben Wyatt The Division 2 Easter egg is hilarious.

Found by Redditor u/Vloki_3, it appears as though The Division 2 is canonically a sequel to Parks & Recreation. Easter eggs are often found, hidden away in games, but this one is less than subtle, especially if you know your Parks and Rec lore. It seems as though, after the events of Parks & Recreation, Ben Wyatt chooses sides with the True Sons. The former Mayor of Ice Town went on to do some dark things.

You can see the image (as per Vloki_3) below. Warning: there is a fair amount of foul language here. Avert your eyes if you’re not into that sort of thing or if you’re at work. We don’t tell your boss. Promise.

The Division 2 Parks & Recreation Easter Egg

Previously a failed Mayor, Ben Wyatt grows up to become Major Wyatt of the True Sons after the world says: “no more.” He was a clown then and apparently, he’s a clown now, too. It appears as though he’s not a popular chap in the dystopian future, either. You will find the easter egg if you find the Ace of Hearts card somewhere in the dystopian Washington DC mess.

While the Easter egg doesn’t literally mean that The Division 2 is canonically a sequel to Parks & Recreation (we’d need official word on that), it at least suggests that someone with the same name and history lives in the world. We wonder what happened to the likes Leslie Knope, Tom Haverford, and Anne Perkins? We’d like to think that Ron Swanson is there somewhere, trying to slow down the efforts of whatever government remains. We need Perd Hapley to let us in on all the details.
