Castlevania Anniversary Collection release date confirmed, features eight games in total

The Castlevania Anniversary Collection release date has been revealed on the PlayStation blog. The online and social media manager for Konami Europe Asim Tanvir confirmed the slated released date for the upcoming compilation. Tanvir also revealed the full line-up of Castlevania titles which will be included in the collection.

We now know Castlevania Anniversary Collection will be released on May 16. The announcement was made via the PlayStation blog, however the game will also be available on Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. The collection will include:

  • Castlevania
  • Castlevania 2 Belmont’s Revenge
  • Castlevania 2 Simon’s Quest
  • Castlevania 3 Dracula’s Curse
  • Super Castlevania 4
  • Castlevania Bloodlines
  • Kid Dracula
  • Castlevania the Adventure

The Castlevania Anniversary Collection is being released as part of Konami’s 50th-anniversary celebrations. Castlevania Bloodlines is being touted as a landmark release in the collection. The 25-year-old title has never been playable on a PlayStation console previously. Kid Dracula is also highlighted for this collection as it’s the first time the game has been available outside of Japan.

Other Konami anniversary collections include an Arcade Classics Anniversary Collection and Contra Anniversary Collection. Arcade Classics Anniversary Collection is available from today, while the Contra Anniversary Collection is slated for an early summer release.

The latest collection of Castlevania games comes less than a year since a previous Castlevania bundle. Castlevania Requiem was released in October 2018. The collection included Castlevania Symphony of the Night and Castlevania Rondo of Blood.

Konami’s latest activity aside from its 50th-anniversary celebrations involved announcing it would be building an esports center. The building named the Konami Creative Center (KCC Ginza) is being created with the aim of growing esports in Japan. The building is expected to be completed in November 2019, allowing it to be used by the influx of tourists during the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

The Castlevania Anniversary Collection is slated to be released on May 16 on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
