Square Enix Revving Up New Carmageddon

According to Harold Camping, President of Family Stations, Inc., tomorrow, May 21st, 2011, is Judgment Day. Which makes today the perfect time for Square Enix to tease a new Carmageddon game.

There hasn't been a new Carmageddon title for over a decade. SCi had planned a 4th installment for 2005, but it was seemingly scrapped around the same time SCi went under the Eidos name.

Eidos was purchased by Square Enix in 2009. And if it weren't for Eidos, Square Enix would be worse off than they already are.

Square Enix has begun teasing the new game at Carmageddon.com via a countdown timer (so typical). The timer is set to expire in 11 days, and when it does, expect to see a new title announced (or another countdown timer).

We can't confirm this, but there's a very good chance that this is going to be a 3DS title. We'll know for sure once E3 kicks off on June 6th. That is if The Rapture doesn't get us by then.
