Google has announced the first Stadia Connect presentation for its upcoming cloud gaming platform. The presentation will take place this coming Wednesday, June 6 at 12:00 PM ET. The Stadia Connect presentation will reveal key details about the Stadia service. These details include the services pricing, as well as the games that will be available on it at launch.
A couple of weeks back, Google made the announcement that these details would be revealed in the Summer. However, most probably weren’t expecting the details to be revealed this soon.
Of these details, the list of games at launch is likely the one that people are looking forward to the most. As of now, only a couple of titles are known to be coming to Stadia. Id Software’s Doom Eternal was the first game announced for the system. The game looks to leverage Stadia’s cloud to be able to provide true 4K 60fps game play on the service without the need for expensive hardware.
In addition to this, Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey will likely arrive on Stadia as well. The game was used to test Stadia’s prototype, Project Stream, last fall. Using this, players were able to play Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey on Google’s Chrome Browser.
How much Google will charge for Stadia will be just as important as the games. The service is expected to come with both an initial price, and a monthly fee. The former is expected to cover the Stadia controller that players on the service will use. The latter, of course, covers continued access to the service itself.
Some of the more hardcore gamers hold doubts about Stadia due to cloud gaming’s inherent input delay. However, if priced just right, some of these gamers might be tempted to give the cloud service a shot, even as a secondary place to play.
