Nintendo Financials Paint A Very Grim Picture For Wii U

Hey, guess what? The Wii U isn't doing so hot. Oh, you knew that already? Well I bet you didn't know that Nintendo only sold a measly 160,000 units of the console between April to June.

And it only gets worse for Nintendo's tablet-centric machine, as game sales are quite pathetic too, with just 1.03 million for the quarter. As it stands, total Wii U sales are just above 3.6 million.

Fortunately, it's not all doom and gloom for The Big N, as the 3DS continues to sell like hot cakes. During the same time period, Nintendo's handheld managed to move 1.4 million units, along with a whopping 11.4 million game sales. It's awfully clear that the company's handheld market is keeping them from sinking right now.

Do you think the holiday season will mark a major turnaround for the Wii U? What does the Big N have to do to win the support of the masses? Let us know in the comments below.
