Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training Switch release date revealed

The Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training Switch release date has finally been revealed! If you’re keen on training your brain with your Nintendo Switch, then Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training may very well be the game for you. Now, gamers in Europe will be able to get their hands on it when it launches on January 3, 2020.

In Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training, players will work their way through various exercises and tests that are designed to sharpen up their thinking skills.  These exercises will test your “information processing speed, short-term memory and self-control.” Players will also be able to set a daily alarm to remind them to continue with their exercises and further improve their thinking abilities. Interestingly, this particular game also makes use of the Nintendo Switch in a vertical orientation, something not a lot of games bother to do.

At least five different games will be arriving with this title on the Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training Switch release date. They include:

  • Finger Calculations: Solve math problems using your fingers. Even if you know the answer in your head, you’ll need to react quickly!
  • Rock, Paper, Scissors: Try to win – and lose – using your fingers in rounds of Rock, Paper, Scissors.
  • Word Scramble: Combine letters to form words.
  • Photographic Memory: Remember the photo previously displayed.
  • Dual Task: Leap over hurdles while choosing the biggest number.

More are said to be included, although the game’s eShop page declines to mention any specifics. There will also be special multiplayer games so that you can challenge your friends and family; only two of these competitive experiences are noted on the game’s eShop page:

  • Birdwatching: Compete to count birds the fastest.
  • Box Counting: Compete to try and remember the number of boxes.

One last item of note: the Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training Switch release date is only for Nintendo’s UK eShop; a game page doesn’t even exist in the US store. Although the Japanese release is coming a bit before the European launch, the American release will presumably be on or close to the same date of January 3, 2020. In the meantime, you can check out the game’s UK eShop page and the announcement trailer for this game below.
