Alien: Isolation Nintendo Switch release date and price revealed

Alien: Isolation is coming to the Nintendo Switch, with a Switch release date and its price having been confirmed today. The critically-acclaimed survival horror game will finally make its way to the hybrid console, with it set to retail for $34.99 on the platform.

Alien: Isolation will release on the Switch on December 5, 2019. A port of the original PS4, Xbox One, and PC game, it places players in the shoes of Amanda Ripley, daughter of the Alien series’ protagonist Ellen Ripley. Finding herself in a similar unfortunate circumstance to her mother, Amanda must navigate an abandoned space station that has been taken over by a terrifying Xenomorph.

The Alien: Isolation Switch port will include the game’s complete set of DLC, including its ‘Last Survivor’ expansion, which recreates Ellen Ripley’s final mission aboard the Nostromo. The port is being handled by Feral Interactive Limited, which previously handled the Switch port for Grid Autosport.

The game is rated M for Mature, with its file size clocking in at 17.7 GB, so those looking to digitally download the game may need to clear up some space on their Switch’s SD card. It’s now available to pre-purchase on the official Nintendo site.

Alien: Isolation first released in 2014, when it was widely praised for its tense atmosphere and intelligent Alien villain. Fans have been calling for a sequel ever since, with the mobile spin-off Alien Blackout releasing earlier this year to a moderate reception.

A batch of screenshots was also released by Sega and Nintendo, showing what Alien: Isolation looks like running on the Nintendo Switch. The screenshots can be viewed in the gallery below:
