Square Enix Cuts Off FFXIV Digital Sales To Accommodate Struggling Servers

Square Enix has halted digital sales of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn because of the overwhelming strain that has hit the game's servers. Of course, this is only temporary.

The studio made the announcement on Facebook, saying:

Due to the overwhelmingly positive response to FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn, we are currently experiencing extremely long wait times for users to be able to log in and play. As a temporary measure, we will halt sales of FINAL FANTASY XIV: A REALM REBORN’s digital download products so we can accommodate all of those wishing to play. We are working to expand our server capacity in the coming days.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this causes.

I guess this is a good problem for Square Enix to have. It looks like the company's attempts to reboot the struggling MMO has paid off. If you've hopped on the FFXIV bandwagon, be sure to comment below and share your thoughts on the game with the rest of the GR community.
