It looks like Activision Blizzard won't be pulling away from parent company Vivendi quite yet, as the courts have put a stop to the separation.
A shareholder sued on the basis that this is essentially just a power grab by the big wigs at the company, and the Delaware Chancery Court has since put the separation of ActiBlizz from Vivendi on hold. The only way it will go through is if the injunction is modified on appeal or if a majority of non-Vivendi stockholders vote in favor of going forward with the move.
Activision isn't giving up on pushing this through, so perhaps this halt by the courts will prove to be nothing more than a speed bump when it's all said and done. We'll just have to wait and see, I guess.
