The Marvel’s Avengers microtransactions can only be used to purchase cosmetic items according to the game’s developers, easing any potential pay to win concerns about the purchases you can make with real money.
“We’ve also committed that content purchasable with real money in Marvel’s Avengers will be aesthetic-only additions, which will ensure we can keep the game fresh for years to come,” read a news post on the game’s official website.
“Our in-game economy is built on a player-first approach where you can earn outfits, emotes, nameplates, and amazing gear through play, as well as tailor your style with store cosmetics purchased using Credits obtained by exchanging real-world currency,” the news post continued.
Players will be able to purchase cosmetic goods using the premium Credits currency from in-game vendors. These items will include Outfits, Emotes, Takedowns, and Nameplates. The Gear that actually affects your stats can only be purchased through currency earned through gameplay.
