Everything you missed from the Square Enix Presents showcase

The first-ever Square Enix Presents showcase premiered today and brought news concerning a host of the venerable publisher’s upcoming titles. Most of the announcements concerned franchises from Square Enix’s Western studios, including Tomb Raider, Avengers, and Life is Strange.

If you missed Square Enix’s Spring 2021 showcase, never fear! We’ve got a list of all the announcements below.

Outriders

Outriders got a new CGI trailer showing the struggle you’ll face on the planet, Enoch. Both the planet and factions of colonists are attempting to destroy humanity’s future, and it’s up to you to solve the mystery behind the planet’s hostile environment.

Square Enix also released an explainer highlighting the four classes of powers that will be available to Outriders in the game. Anyone who played the demo will know the info presented here, but it’s a good primer for those who haven’t got around to checking it out yet.

Tomb Raider

It’s Tomb Raider’s 25th anniversary, and Square Enix is starting the celebration today. You can get Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy, which includes Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider, right now on the PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store for $19.99. However, you better act fast because, in two weeks, it’s getting a price increase to $49.99.

Lara Croft has already made it into Fortnite, but there’s more Tomb Raider x Fortnite crossover content coming. On March 23, Croft Manor will hit Fortnite Creative for free.

Mobile Titles

A smattering of mobile titles are on their way from Square Enix as well. Just Cause Mobile got the biggest reveal and looks to feature the popular gliding and grappling gameplay from the console versions. Hitman Sniper Assassins (not the final title) is also on its way and will probably be a follow-up to Hitman: Sniper, which was released on Android and iOS in 2015.

A Space Invaders Mobile AR is in the works, but the stream only featured a teaser.

Touhou Spell Bubble

A trailer for Touhou Spell Bubble | Side Story Pack 2 Sanea Arc debuted on the Square Enix Presents stream. This is probably incredibly exciting for those who regularly play the visual novel/puzzle game, but I have no clue what it is about.

Darius Cozmic Revelation

This follow up to the incredibly expensive Darius Cozmic Collection features G-Darius HD and DariusBurst Another Chronicle EX+. It looks like it’ll run around $59.99, which is a lot to pay for two older games. I’m more of an R-Type guy myself, but Darius fans are gonna be thrilled.

Bubble Bobble 4 Friends

You might be asking if this game is already out. Yes, it’s been available on Switch and PS4 since November 2019. However, it’s now coming to Steam, so prepare your body.

Marvel’s Avengers

A heaping helping of Avengers news debuted today. Alongside the launch of the next-gen version of the game, we got announcements about the game’s future. This included a roadmap and some footage from the Future Imperfect expansion, which will debut alongside the release of Hawkeye. Additionally, we got a brief tease revealing Black Panther as a future addition to the game.

Balan Wonderworld

This cute platformer will be releasing soon and got a brief trailer showing off some of the game’s levels and costumes. The demo didn’t get the warmest reception (I liked it), but the final game may be worth checking out for 3D platformer fans when it releases on March 26.

Life is Strange

The biggest reveal of the stream was the announcement of Life is Strange: True Colors. This time around, players will have to use empathic abilities to solve the mystery behind the disappearance of the main character, Alex Chen’s, brother. It was revealed True Colors will be releasing as a full game instead of the episodic format used previously. We’re also getting a Life is Strange: Remastered Collection featuring a graphically enhanced version of the original Life is Strange and Life is Strange: Before the Storm

Forspoken (Project Athia)

Luminous Productions mysterious Project Athia got a title reveal during the stream. It’s now called Forspoken and will feature Ella Balinska as the main character. It seems to be an isekai in which a Frey Holland, a woman from our world, is thrust into the land of Athia. She’ll need to learn magic to combat the dragons and other critters that she’ll encounter while traversing Athia. Forspoken is a true next-gen title and is being built as a PlayStation 5 exclusive. The game looks to be shaping up well and will be released sometime in 2022.
