Microsoft Flight Simulator Halo Infinite

Microsoft Flight Simulator x Halo Infinite DLC is Available to Download Today

Microsoft Flight Simulator celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, and a new Anniversary Edition will bring back classic planes from the franchise when it is released in November. Those who can’t wait that long can make use of the Microsoft Flight Simulator x Halo Infinite DLC that is available from today instead.

What’s in the Microsoft Flight Simulator x Halo Infinite DLC?

Microsoft Flight Simulator

The crossover between Microsoft Flight Simulator and the Halo franchise introduces an “incredibly detailed” Halo Infinite Pelican add-on for free today, June 12. The vehicle can be found in the in-sim marketplace for owners of the sim and/or Xbox Game Pass members.

Meanwhile, the 40th Anniversary Edition will bring back classic airports and beloved planes from earlier games in the franchise like Microsoft Flight Simulator X and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight. The edition will also be adding helicopters and gliders for the first time, the former with an all-new Fluid Dynamics Simulation. There will be a “highly detailed, true-to-life” version of the Airbus A310 too. Finally, thanks to a collaboration with the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum, the “Spirit of St. Louis” plane will be added as well. A small sample of the aircraft players will receive in the new edition includes:

Historical Aircraft:

  • Wright Flyer
  • Ryan NYP (“Spirit of St. Louis”)
  • Douglas DC-3
  • De Havilland Canada DHC-2-Beaver

Helicopters:

  • Bell-407
  • Guimbal Cabri G2

Gliders:

  • DG Flugzeugbau LG8-18
  • DG Flugzeugbau DG1001E neo

True-to-Life Airliner:

  • Airbus A310

Collaborations with third-party developers like iniSimulations, MilViz, Bluemesh, Aeroplane Heaven have helped to bring these vehicles into the game. The 40th Anniversary Edition will be a free add-on for those who already own Microsoft Flight Simulator on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, or PC, or who play it through Xbox Game Pass.

In other news, a partnership between Riot Games and Xbox Game Pass will allow members access to games like League of Legends and Valorant. Elsewhere, there was no pushback from Marvel over the inclusion of Spider-Man in Marvel’s Midnight Suns.
