rn
rnThis dark retail simulator for windows showcasing street vendors each with goals and different stats and requirements. The game is free but there’s also a $5 “Everything” edition that comes with the soundtrack, a bonus game, and another unique character. -
Gone Home
[Review] - Released August 15th, 2013
rn
rnPC gamers with a penchant for indie games may have already spotted Gone Home on their own hipster-cool radar widget. Many others probably missed it. Gone Home went on sale during Steam’s holiday price-slashing spree, but it’ll probably be back at a weekly deal rate. Either way, being relatively short and narratively heavy, Gone Home is good for a Sunday play and definitely worth the price even considering how much movie tickets cost these days. -
Gunpoint
[Steam Link] - Released June 3rd, 2013
rn
rnThis is another puzzle platformer and an indie title to boot, but from Tom Francis, Gunpoint features a totally unique take on the spy game. Players have to help Richard Conway infiltrate and subdue, using gadgets, tools, and more. -

Remember Me
[Review] - Released June 3rd, 2013
rn
rnThis new license from Dontnod Entertainment and Capcom features a lot of hand-to-hand combat, a beautiful vision of france in the future, and a narratively fuzzy storyline. You’ll have to help the heroine piece things back together after a daring escape from what appears to be a mental institution. You’ll have to remember what comes next. -
Rogue Legacy
[Download] - Released June 27th, 2013
rn
rnWhile Rogue Legacy might prove too hard for the uninitiated, there’s no dying the immediately addicting nature in the gameplay. You might die extremely quickly over and over again or get frustrated, but as you learn the ins and outs you’ll start to enjoy the overarching progression. -
Strike Suit Zero
[Review] - Released January 23rd, 2013

Second, there’s a lot more freedom than Counter-Strike, and narrative sequences help set up and conclude competitive match-ups and more. Give it a download to see what you missed in 2013. -
The Stanley Parable
[Review] - Released October 17th, 2013
rn
rnThe Stanley Parable won our award for Best PC Exclusive and Paul Tamburro had high praise for the title in his review. The way the Narrator unsettles your mind and pushes you to think beyond the game you’re playing, outside yourself and others. -
The Swapper
[Coverage] - Released May 30th, 2013
rn
rnThis indie game from Finland established a cult following this year and features unique visuals and puzzle-platform gameplay. Like Guacamelee for PlayStation Vita, Metroid-vania elements tease the player deeper into the story and mechanics. I like the haunting atmosphere of the abandoned Theseus space station.
