[Original] This year will reportedly "mark a renaissance for Sonic the Hedgehog." In fact, according to a piece of alleged promotional material (via NeoGAF), Sega is going so far as to label 2014 the "Year of Sonic."

It's funny to see Sega take a page out of Nintendo's book after the Big N made 2013 all about Luigi with middling results.

Wii U owners are still patiently waiting for another exclusive Sonic game as part of Nintendo's three-game partnership with Sega. Might this "renaissance" involve this new exclusive? Here's to hoping. After all, last year's efforts weren't particularly great.
