Titanfall Xbox 360 Release Delayed, Xbox One And PC Release Still Set for March 11th

Writing on the publisher's blog, Electronic Arts Executive Vice President of EA Studios Patrick Söderlund has announced that the Xbox 360 version of hotly anticipated Titanfall will not ship with Xbox One and PC versions.

Xbox One and PC gamers can still expect Titanfall to release on March 11th, just weeks away, but Xbox 360 owners planning on getting the game at launch will have to wait until March 25th.

Söderlund wrote that the company has been "fired up" with all the Titanfall anticipation and that "the team at Respawn is putting the finishing touches on a game that… will truly demonstrate the possibilities of this new generation."

"Bluepoint is doing the same with the Xbox 360 version," Söderlund continued. "To give them the time they need to put the finishing touches on the current-gen version of the game, we are moving the Xbox 360 ship date…. The extra two weeks will ensure the full world of Xbox gamers has an awesome experience."

Remember that Respawn Entertainment sent the Xbox 360 version to die to be ported by Bluepoint Studios. This isn't the delay we anticipated with the close competition between two EA-published Xbox One shooters, but it's a delay nonetheless.

Respawn recently revealed Titanfall's PC requirements and offered details on the game's upcoming beta on Xbox One and PC. While Titanfall is currently an Xbox and Microsoft platform exclusive, EA has addressed the reasoning for this and the company continues to play coy about a PlayStation release.
