Xbox LIVE Gold Will Be Free This Weekend

Just in time for Valentine's Day, Microsoft wants to hand all of its US and Canadian fans a present as announced by Major Nelson: Xbox Live GOLD will be free for all Xbox 360 owners this weekend. What, were you expecting some Gears of War chocolates?!

I'm surprised that Microsoft won't be extending this Xbox Live GOLD program to the Xbox One considering that if people wanted Xbox Live GOLD on Xbox 360, they had plenty of chances to get a subscription. But I won't look a gift horse in the mouth… for too long.

The Xbox Live GOLD free weekend will last from 12:01am PT time on February 14 to 11:59pm PT on February 16. During that time, you will have access to free online multiplayer gaming, Video Kinect, and select entertainment apps.
