Microsoft: Xbox One’s Battle Against PS4 “a Marathon, Not a Sprint”

Despite the fact that PlayStation 4 is currently eating Xbox One's lunch when it comes to hardware sales, Microsoft's Phil Harrison remains incredibly positive on XB1's performance thus far, claiming it's only going to get better in the future.

"This is a marathon, not a sprint," Harrison told VentureBeat when the topic of next-gen console sales was brought up. Based on the latest numbers, PlayStation 4 sales are past the 6 million mark, while Xbox One has sold around 4 million units.

"We're happy with our plan," Harrison added. "We're happy with the performances of our key franchises and key partnerships, most notably Titanfall in the last couple of weeks. You can see independent surveys and studies showing our sell-through doubling in the UK as far as hardware."

Do you think Microsoft will be able to narrow the sales gap between Xbox One and PS4 by the end of 2014? What will it take for the Big M to pull ahead?
